Red velvet cookies| theflavours101.

These red velvet cookies are easy to make and are usually made with ingredients readily available in your pantry. These red velvet cookies are soft and chewy and will keep you longing for more! If you are a foodie and love to try new recipes you should defiantly get your hand on these red velvet cookies.


PREPARATION TIME:10mins.

INGREDIENTS.


  • 100 gms butter.

  • 1 cup maida/all-purpose flour.

  • 1 cup powdered sugar.

  • 5-6 tbsp milk.

  • 1/2 lemon.

  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder.

  • 1 tbsp red food color.

  • 1/2 tbsp baking soda.


LET'S GET STARTED....!!!

COOKING TIME:30mins.

STEP1: Take a small bowl add 5-6 tbsp of milk and squeeze 1/2 lemon in it and let it sit for about 5 mins so that the milk starts to curdle (you can also use 1 tbsp of white vinegar instead of lemon) this step is to give the cookies a little sour taste like the red velvet cake.


STEP2: Take a large bowl add 100 gms of butter and 1 cup of sugar combine it well.

STEP3: Add 1 tbsp of red food color to the butter and sugar mix and mix it well until well combined.

STEP4:Sift in the dry ingredients using a whisk that is 2 tbsp of cocoa powder,1/2 tbsp of baking soda, 1cup maida mix it well your mix will be very crumbly. Add the milk that we prepared earlier and mix it well. you cookie dough well look something like this.

STEP5: Let the dough set in the fridge for 10-15 mins. Make small portions of the dough grease the tray with some butter so that the cookies do not stick to the tray. Bake them for about 15-20 mins at 180 degrees. ( preheat the oven for 10 mins at 200 degrees)

STEP6: And the cookies are ready to serve!
